Community Guidelines

These Community Guidelines are intended to create a respectful environment. Violating these guidelines can result in the removal of your comment and/or a temporary or permanent ban from posting comments.

Post in Good Faith. Discussions on My View from the Cheap Seats are intended to be enlightening, educational, entertaining, surprising, wide-ranging, and respectful. My View from the Cheap Seats journalists will appear with an My View from the Cheap Seats icon next to their username.

Recommend Ideas. Reply to other comments and use the “Recommend” button to upvote those that resonate with you.

Post Respectfully. We have a zero-tolerance policy for hate speech and ad hominem attacks. Do not bully, dox, or harass others.

Usernames that impersonate or mock real people are not allowed and will be banned. Please report comments that might violate our guidelines.

No Spamming. Comments should be germane to the subject of the article. Using comments to sell or market products or services is prohibited. Do not submit comments that include inappropriate content or promote illegal activities.

 

Moderation Guidelines

Comments may be moderated to ensure they align with the Community Guidelines. If you don’t see your comment in a Discussion immediately, it may be because it has been flagged and needs further review.

If your comment violates the Community Guidelines or is otherwise inappropriate, it will not appear within a Discussion.

Users can be temporarily or permanently banned for egregious misconduct or repeated violations of our Community Guidelines. You will be notified of the ban the next time you attempt to comment.

If your comment has been rejected or deleted, or if you’ve been banned, you may appeal our moderation decision. All decisions following an appeal are final.
